We strongly believe in giving back. As a business this giving comes in many forms. We are very proud to Sponsor several local football teams, some adult some Junior. Without sponsorship these local teams would find it hard to cover costs.
These teams invest a lot of time and energy on the ground with local kids who will be our future generations. If I can play a small part in helping shape their futures for the better, its money well spent.
We are also proud kit sponsors of Irish League Champions Crusaders F.C. Recently an article appeared in a local paper covering our sponsorship of the Crues under the heading “When it comes to Funeral Directors Stephen McCosh is in the premier League” if that’s the case then we aren’t just in the premier league, we are in it with the premier league champions!
North United are a cross community football team founded in 2018. The club has a first team and a reserve team. In their first season the first team finished a very respectable 6th place in the difficult Ballymena & provincial league and the reserves won the South Antrim league title, a fantastic achievement. As a company we are proud to be the 1st team and training kit sponsor. Stephen is Honorary President and Scott is Honorary Vice President and Secretary.
Every year one of our staff members (Mark) dances in the charity event, strictly come dancing. All proceeds go towards mental health charities.
Something to which not enough money can go to.
He has won it for the last 3 years!
We have also sponsored and erected a large grey granite memorial tribute to the 36th Ulster Division in the Shankill Memorial Garden. These brave men who fought and died that we could have to freedom to enjoy life should never be forgotten. This stands as tribute to their legacy and a token of our appreciation to them.
Throughout the year we also sponsor many local charity events. It’s a privilege to know that our community see us being approachable and able to invite or ask us to help with all that they endeavour to do for its betterment. We donate money, raffle prizes and our time to helping those around us.
We help school kids get taken on days out. We make sure kids get burgers and hot dogs on July 12th. We send pensioners board games and activities to nursing homes. We get all sorts of requests for help to which we to help everyone. At Christmas we give families that have had a difficult year Christmas dinner hampers that no child or family will go hungry on Christmas day.
We can even try to help those at this time of year who have fallen on hard times that every child has a present to open and a warm home. We are our community in a very real and active way. When we say we care we put our money where our mouth is.
We sing Carols, have vocalists, The Salvation Army Band, Poems and an act of remembrance. This brings our local community together to reflect at a very difficult time of year. It’s always very well attended and brings over 450 people together to remember as a community those we have loved and lost.
We are there for everyone at every level. When we say care and compassion at the heart of our service, we mean it.
